A Life Well Lived: Remembering Canon Séamus Mullin

A Life of Faith and Dedication
Canon Séamus' journey began with the loss of his parents, Martin and Bridget, and his brothers, Fr Harry, Paddy, and baby Martin. Despite these early setbacks, his dedication to his faith and community remained unwavering. He was predeceased by his loved ones, but his spirit lived on through his sister-in-law Angela, niece Patricia, and the clergy of the Killaloe Diocese, including Bishop Fintan and Fr Donagh O'Meara PP.
What makes this particularly fascinating is the resilience and strength Canon Séamus embodied. Despite personal losses, he dedicated his life to serving others, leaving an indelible mark on the parishes he served and the students he taught at St Flannan's College, Ennis.
Fond Memories and a Warm Farewell
As news of Canon Séamus' passing spread, a wave of heartfelt condolences and memories emerged. Teresa, his close companion, along with parishioners and former students, shared stories of his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to his duties. The clergy of the Killaloe Diocese expressed their deep regret and gratitude for his service.
In my opinion, it's these personal connections and the impact he had on individuals that truly define Canon Séamus' legacy. His presence will be sorely missed, but his memory will live on through the lives he touched.
A Peaceful Repose and Final Resting Place
Canon Séamus' final journey will begin at St Joseph's Church, Miltown Malbay, where he will repose on Tuesday, April 28th, from 4 pm to 7 pm. The evening will be marked by the Office of the Dead, a solemn prayer service. On Wednesday, April 29th, at 2 pm, a Funeral Mass will be held, followed by his interment in the church grounds.
